Linear Advance slowing printing speed considerably

So here I'm, printing nicely with my E3D V6 mod for JGAurora A5 (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4681089).
I upgraded it with Marlin 2.0.72 and while at it, activated Linear Advance.

At first, I was very happy with printing quality with LA calibrated. However, what really sucks and I can't fix is very slow printing with LA activated in G-code. I'm talking about 3x slower printing than without it.
Any tips where and issue might be?
