    Sam,
    I’m getting real tired of the the touch screen on the A5. When you say the above linked lcd module is plug and play. Would it require any firmware changes?

    It is not plug and play, but the firmware changes required are quite straight forward. I'm happy to help you with firmware if you want to try this.

    Sounds great!! I just ordered the LCD you recommended. It should be here in 12-20 days.

    So I’ve installed the new lcd and it’s working fine with the new 1.1.9 firmware. Is there anything I should do to turn off th old controller in the firmware?

    That's really great - nice work! Would love if you could share a photo of your setup perhaps!

    There's nothing you can do to disable the old one - you must simply unplug it if you don't want to use it. I'd recommend that.

    I'm in the process of making a case for the new lcd. Once I've got it finished I'll post a pic and list of the firmware mods.
