TMC 2208 PROVISIONALES.

Hola a todos.

He comprado dos TMC 2130 para los ejes X, Y.

Y dos TMC 2208 para el eje Z y el extrusor.

Pero de momento solo he recibido los 2208, los 2130 no han llegado.

¿Puedo montar estos 2208 en los ejes X, Y provisionalmente sin hacer ninguna modificación de software y hardware?

Solo quiero provisionalmente quitar ruido a la máquina hasta que lleguen los 2130.

Es quitar y poner drivers, así de fácil.

¿Es posible? o hay que hacer alguna modificación.

No, the 2208 are the same as 2130 - they require changes to software:
- reverse firmware direction
- changing steps per mm

i changed stock to 2208, and i dont made any changes. I just replace it and set voltage. its all. All working fine withoout any chages in software

You need to remove all the jumper links underneath the stepper drivers. This is required to set the stepper rate to 16 microsteps per full step.

@djaurora - did you swap the motor wiring as well perhaps? This is very strange news! I was very sure that you do need to change the firmware if you are going from A4988 to TMC2208 - but I have not tried it myself!

The TMC2XXX series are all very very similar in many areas:  you do not need to make any changes for going from TMC2208 to TMC2100/TMC2130 - for basic operation.

i doing nothing. I just replace old steppers to new 2208. Wiring is the same as was, software is orginal without any changes, i only set the voltage, and today increase voltage for extruder motor, below voltages i measured today:

E - 0.760V
Z - 0.858V
Y - 0.548V
X - 0.572V

All is working fine, motors arent hot, and steps isnt missing at all. Below some fotos from today opening:

Thank you for the detailed photos. Looks like a nice job! Those small power regulators are very useful, I keep a couple as spares

Hola a todos de nuevo.

Acabo de recibir mis 4 TMC2208, quería sustituir los originales X,Y,Z,E0 por estos, solo quiero mejorar el tema del ruido de los motores y tener una mejor calidad de impresión.

Pero estoy realmente confundido con las ultimas noticias de configuración.

¿Hay que retocar el Marlin, o solo hay que sustituir los drivers sin hacer nada más?

Si hay que retocar Marlin, me podéis resumir detalladamente lo que tengo que hacer. (¿Hay que quitar los jumpers de los zócalos?)

I just replaced the old modules with new ones, and then I adjusted the voltage with a potentiometer like in the post above. That's it

De momento todo funciona bien.
Ha mejorado mucho el ruido y la calidad de las impresiones.
Recomiendo la modificación.
