X axis homing issue

ishtobishtob Posts: 13Member
Just installed the new marlin v2 custom fw on my A5S with the intension to get octopi working, and now I am unable get Homing XYZ to work, it fails when attempting the home the x axis, it bounces twice and makes a horrible grinding noice, the I get the "Homing failed, printer halted, please reset" error.

Reflashing to the most current OEM firmware works without a hitch

I am pretty new to this, and can't seem to find any information on how to troubleshoot this.

Looks like I identified the issue, looks like the top bearing on the X axis is mounted too far to the left and preventing the x axis stop switch from activating. I repositioned the bearing and can now home properly

Unless the A5s is re-designed, the x-axis bearings are clamped in the aluminium heat-break block - you simply loosen the two screws holding the two halves together and re-position the bearings centrally, then re-tighten the screws

However, your problem may be caused by something different
