Reset from error.

Trying to use Magic printer for first time.  Selected option to home the print head and got an error message 'Homing failed [cr] PRINTER HALTED [cr] Please reset".  I have disconnected the power line and the LCD display still reads with no power to the printer.  How does it get reset?

Do you have a computer connected to the USB? If you do, the control board is getting power from the computer.

Found my answer.  I had the USB printer cable connected from a laptop, which was on, to the printer.  When the laptop was off, the control screen went dark.  Experimenting, I turned the printer back on and it was fine; disconnecting the cable seems to have completely fixed the problem.  Thanks all for thinking about this.

    Welcome @jerry ,
Unfortunately there is no way to resume a stopped print like that. Even if you edit the gcode and delete the early commands up to the last command, the printer would need to perform a homing operation, which is not possible with the print in the way. Best to restart.
