Adding Rotary Knob

Using the custom Firmware, would it be possible to add a rotary knob like the Prusa or Creality printers have? The touch screen is great and all, but I feel like Marlin was designed for a rotary knob sometimes :D

It's 100% possible, but there is no port on the motherboard, so you would need to do a bunch of wiring up. Much easier to swap out a different motherboard (e.g. MKS SGEN L), and then benefit from a range of advantages!

Ohh.. the MKS SGEN L looks interesting. I think i'll have to check that out in the future. I'd like to upgrade a few other things first.

What are the range of benefits the MKS SGEN L would have over the JG board? Is it just having more ports / pins exposed to work with?

Replaceable stepper drivers would be one advantage, as well as all the expansion / upgrade possibilities.
