Error WinTemp triggered system stopped -Heater_id : 0

I was trying to tighten the nozzle while holding with a wrench the hot end and accidentally touched the  heater cartridge with wrench.There was a spark and the error message “ Error WinTemp triggered system stopped -Heater_id : 0” appears on LCD anytime I try to use the printer. I have replaced the heater cartridge and thermostat but still the same error.  Any ideas on how to fix the problem will much appreciated. Do I need to change the motherboard?

The board has two thermistor inputs for two print heads.  First make sure your connections to the board are good....  If you damaged that circuit only, you can utilize the other like a spare by changing the firmware to utilize the alternate and switch the wire plug to the other input.

If that doesn't work, you will need a new board. 

The A5 utilizes a common and very inexpensive board but you'll have to make some changes for it to work.  If you choose a new authentic JG board you'll pay alot more  (which you'll want to update the firmware on that one too).  There is a lot of discussion about boards in the forum and online, and I assume you have tuned your drivers and handled the firmware and stuff...  I guess those are mandatory for good results on the A5 machines... I zapped 2x boards this way. Reverse the heater cartridge wires. When I tested with an ohm meter, I was getting +24V when I put my + probe on the heater block and - probe to the black power wire (- voltage input to the board.) When i reversed the heater wires, the heat block then showed 0V and no more zapped boards.
