Bed leveling mesh not applying

Hello,
I did many times the manual bed leveling steps (followed the DaHai's youtube video).
However, it seems to not apply..
Even after the M500 gcode.
I mean, afterwards when I'm using the host and I try to move along the X or Y axis, lets say at a Z height of 0.1mm, I expect the nozzle to keep that height according to the mesh I saved.
But this didn't happen..
And worse, I cannot be able to do large print (~20cm wide) since the first layer not stick really well..
In the meantime I found a way for printed part by editing the print gcode by adding M420 S1 after the initial G28 at the beginning.
Why I need that extra step?
DaHai for example didn't need to do that when printing all the benchies (at least he didn't mention to add this gcode).
And is it possible to apply the bed leveling mesh even for manual moves?
Thank you very much.

So everything is normal!
- Samule Pinches: it must be after the G28 (which disables the mesh).
Just a question however...Does manual homing (with the LCD display or with the appropriate shortcut in various host software) disable the mesh every time?
In other word, should I need to send M420 S1 after every homing?
So I understand now how to add "custom" buttons like on that other thread with the power off button..
But while I'm here..
I noticed also that the LCD displays the actions to performs the manual mesh bed leveling..
So I suppose that those are added in the same way?
I saw the links!
Thank you..
Will probably tackle this later..
