Need Help with Troubleshooting Blobs

nottubnottub Posts: 3Member
Hi,

I just got my A5 from China and startet printing. But I am not very impressed with the quality of the prints, foremost the really bad bloobs.

I tried the community firmware and the original one.
I tried different slicer and settings.
And I oiled the filament for lubrication.

Im using PETG from Das Filament, so it shouldnt be the Filament.

In the picture you can see the blobs on the cat. The vase printed in a single outline doesnt show these blobs.

Thanks for your help

I fought the same issue for awhile. The hotend was pausing while the retract was being executed. The way I fixed it was by wiping while retracting and also coasting. I’m currently coasting .5mm, wiping 2mm and retracted 8mm at 150mm/sec. I’m using Simplify 3D for slicing and had to turn on “Perform retraction during wipe movement” in the advanced settings to get this work other wise it would pause and cause the blob. Hope this helps!
