Fan doesn't turn on automatically

Hi, so i'm completely new to 3D printing and have no idea about all the parts and mechanics of 3D printers, so please use monkey language whilst responding.

Ive set my fan settings as listed below, yet according to the screen on my printer, the fan doesn't turn on, I have to do it manually. How does this happen? And how does one fix this? Thanks in advance

Enable print cooling: check
Fan speed: 100%
Regular fan speed: 100%
Initial fan speed: 0%
Regular fan speed at height: 0.1mm

Does it turn on if you set initial fan speed to 100%?

Can you provide a screenshot (snipping tool) of your cooling settings with all options visible (I guess you use Cura)?

I'm in the same case. 
For my first prints, i never see the fan automaticaly turn.
It is for a certain type of filament ?

If you can turn on the fan with the display but it does not do so automatically the fault is most probably in your slicer (Cura/JGCreat...) settings.
