Printing a Cube VS. Printing a Cylinder

Hi everyone.
I realized that when the first layer is a quadrilateral shape (either a square or rectangle; 90 degree between wall lines), it easily warps and I need to apply brim.
Whereas when printing a first layer with circular shape (or as long as the wall line is curved), it won't warp at all.
My bed leveling is fine, in fact I level the bed real close and clicking sounds can be heard from the extruder motor.
My slicing setting is first layer height 0.16mm, initial flow 110%.
I'm thinking whether is this common to you guys?
