Hotbed Cable Management

Hey,

recently, I had a problem with my Hotbed not heating up properly.
So i opened my JGAurora A5 and found the hotbed connecter being burnt.
I bought some new wires, because i wanted to use the other 2 connecters of the hotbed,
instead of just the 4 ones, which were innately connected.
Now im not sure, how to connect the powerwires, coming from my Mosfet,
with the 2 other pads on the Hotbed.

So is there a polarity, i have to take notice of, or can i just connect them with my powercables?
Do I have to remove the 4 Pin Plug of my hotbed, or can i Just solder the other 4 wires (Power and Thermistor) on to the Pins?

Help is appreciated!

    Welcome @Levi Döner ,
the heatbed is not polarised. However, if you are soldering the wires direct to the heat bed, then you don’t need any additional wires. The damage is because the connector was not sufficient, but the wires are ok.

Hey Samuel, thank you for your awnser!

So it is enough, when I solder the wires to the Pins of the connector on the heatbed?
Because I don't have a soldering iron hot enough, to desolder the connector from the Heatbed.

And in your oppinion it is better, to not solder the other 2 pads of the Heatbed?

If you have a 4 pin heat bed, then I am not sure what the other 2 pads do. Sometimes these beds are designed with 2 pads for 12V operation, and 2 pads for 24V operation. I think it is better to use the 2 original pads (+2 pads for thermistor, of course).

A good quality soldering iron is a good investment ;-)

    Alright, this sounds good :)

I will try to remove the connector with a better soldering iron.
Thank you very much for your help Samuel!

I soldered mine right to the connector pins.
