Marlin and LCD update - White Screen or Stuck on update screen

Just got an open-box A5S.
After making a few wiring and mechanical repairs, I discovered that it would move in all axis, except -X.
Switched to the latest Marlin version, and now it works! Except there is no touchscreen interface. I attempt to install the obne I find, but it stalls after 100%/Enter FW.... appears.
Or, if I reboot after the attempted LCD firmware update, I got a white screen.
What am I doing wrong?
