Print speeds

Has anyone done any calibration on the print speeds on these printers? My estimates by Cura seem to be way off, sometimes the actual print time is as much as double. I know there are acceleration factors etc but it still seems quite far out.

But even taking that into account, I am currently printing the bottom layers on a model and it is filling them with straight lines. The top/bottom speed is 30mm/s which is 3cm/s which should be quite fast yet it is visibly slow. Is there something going on with the speeds?

I'll note that this is with Octoprint. I'll have to give it a try directly from the SD card too but that shouldn't really make a difference since the print head is not stalling.

I am using the PrintTimeGenius Plugin in Octoprint for Estimates. Seems much more accurate for me.

Thanks, I'll have a look. I think I'll whip up some gcode files to do some calibration too.
