Power fan

As we all know the power fan is super loud. So people have been recommending to upgrade the fans to noctura fans. Which would be nice but the recommended fans on the wiki state 15mm deep. The noctura fans are 25 mm deep. Would they still work and is there room.Β

I don't think there is roo inside, it is a low profile power supply. But perhaps you could screw the fan onto the outside so it sucks air through rather than blowing air through? Not sure if that would work.

do you think that a new fan will make it quieter?Β

I think so. Or you could try add a drop of sewing machine oil into the bearing on the original fan. That should probably help too.

i think i will try to replace it. it sounds like a vacuum when on.

Btw an update on this. The machine oil part did not work and i have not had a chance to switch the fan out

Remove the original fan and mount a usb-fan
with bracket on top of the frame. Works very good.

I am concerned about the bed that moves and might hit it if its on top. Looking at nocuta fans but might just have to bite the bullet on just any other fan and hope for the best

Do you know what type of fan it is? Is it a 30x30 or a 40x40?

24V? Change it to the same measurement and check the db of the model.Β
    For example:Β https://www.reichelt.at/titan-luefter-60x60x10-mm-4800-upm-titan-tfd6010hhb-p160010.html?trstct=pos_0

Important is that you cool the same or better than the original fan does. That part is the heart of the printer ;) it has to cool as hell :D So for me its ok when its only that part which makes some noices

Ah a much better size, there are many fans that can be a quiet replacement ;)

It is also a 12V fan from memory, even though the power supply is 24V.
