Newbie Very Confused.

I am hitting so many roadblocks and about to give up. I am trying to install the Cura 4.4 and as the older one had the "custom" this one does not. Now I can't even get it set up. I have already tried to print and scratched my plate so I hope I can still print on it because I can't afford a new one. What am I doing wrong?
PS If anyone reading this lives in the North Dallas TX that can come help me and my elderly dad set this up, we would love you for it.
